Event Link This summer’s BioTech/MedTech Cluster event is on Thursday, August 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Millyard Museum, 200 Bedford Street in Manchester. The networking event will feature opportunities for attendees to connect with companies who are part of New Hampshire’s growing life science ecosystem, get an update on who is hiring and who is looking for new employment opportunities, participate in a guided tour with the Manchester Historic Association’s Executive Director, John Clayton, and celebrate New Hampshire’s past, present and future economic landscape. Hello MTT-S / AP-S NH Joint Chapter members, I hope you will be able to attend a breakfast planning meeting that will be held on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:30 AM at Blakes Restaurant, 353 South Main Street, Manchester, NH 03102. The time is a departure from our usual technical evening meeting format. This time slot has worked successfully for New Hampshire Joint Engineering Societies meetings that Tom Perkins and I attend, so I thought something different for a planning meeting would be worth a try, at least once. Topics for discussion with breakfast: Welcome new AP-S members MTT / AP NH Chapter officer election Upcoming meetings Registration site: A few words on the election. IEEE limits individual officers to serve two consecutive terms. A NH Chapter term of office is one year. Both chair and vice chair positions are needed to operate effectively throughout the year. Both chair and vice chair positions are open The election runs in three phases: The open nomination phase goes from July 9 to September 13. Self-nominations require a short position statement, bio and IEEE membership number. Peer nominations require name, office position and email address. Send nomination to: Ed Nelson:enelson@ieee.org The nomination by petition phase runs from September 14 to October 4. Self and peer nominations are allowed. Each requires name, brief position statement, brief bio, IEEE membership number, and signed endorsement from 1% of chapter’s membership. For MTT / AP Joint Chapter, only 1 endorsement is required. Send nominations by petition to Ed Nelson:enelson@ieee.org The voting phase runs from October 5 to Novermber1. Balloting will be done electronically. Ballots will allow a field for write in candidates. Briefly, the primary chair duties are to attend monthly ExCom meeting in support of meeting quorum requirements and to hold at least two technical meeting a year to receive the $200 yearly rebate from dues. The vice chair’s responsibility is to fill in for the chair in his absence and to assist with scheduling technical meetings. Please consider running for either chair or vice chair. I’d be happy to answer any questions. Best Regards Don 2018 Chair MTT-S / AP-S NH Joint Chapter Agenda: Topics for discussion with breakfast: Welcome new AP-S members MTT / AP NH Chapter officer election Upcoming meetings Location: Blake's Restaurant 353 South Main Street Manchester, New Hampshire 03102
