WIE / YP Annual Fall Hike and Picnic
Come and join the IEEE New Hampshire Section's Women in Engineering (WIE) and Young Professionals (YP) for our annual fall foliage hike at the beautiful Bear Brook State Park! This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the crisp autumn air, connect with colleagues, and see the best of New Hampshire's scenery. Friends and family are welcome to join us. Event Details - When: Saturday, October 25, 2025 | Meet at 9:45 AM, hike begins promptly at 10:00 AM. - Where: Bear Brook State Park, Allenstown, NH. We will meet at the main parking lot for Catamount Pond. - How to Find Us: Look for the blue IEEE banner near the trailhead. About the Hike We will be hiking the Bear Brook Cascade and Sentinel Pine Loop, a scenic 3.6-mile trail known for its beautiful woodland views. The trail is considered moderate, so be prepared for some rolling hills. We'll maintain a comfortable, social pace so everyone can enjoy the trail and the conversation. Post-Hike Picnic After our hike, let's gather in the picnic area by the pond to eat lunch and socialize. To warm us up, I'll be bringing a large thermos of hot apple cider to share! Please pack a lunch for yourself, and feel free to bring an extra snack or dessert to share with the group. What to Bring - Good hiking boots or sturdy sneakers - A backpack with water and personal snacks - Your packed lunch - Layers of clothing appropriate for the weather Logistics & Planning - Rain Date:A final decision based on the weather forecast will be emailed to all attendees by Friday evening. - Carpooling: We encourage carpooling! If you can offer a ride or would like to find one, please let me know to help coordinate. - Park Fee: Please be aware that Bear Brook State Park has a small entrance fee ($4 per adult). It's best to bring cash.
